Did the Water Affect Our Hardwood Floor?
In this case, yes.
The section of hardwood floor just in front of the door frame darkened at the top, and also the section in the upper right hand corner of the picture have water damage and water stains.
This particular engineered hardwood floor is glued down in "honey glue" which holds the moisture against the wood, making it difficult to impossible to dry quickly.
Sometimes these areas don't show at first.
The floor will need replaced. Generally the floor is replaced until it ends in open areas and/or the floor continues into a room where a door can be closed.
At SERVPRO of Waco we have experience assessing and monitoring wet hardwood floors in water damage situations, as well as laminates and other wood style floors.
