Normally, laminate floors are removed when they have been damaged by water. 

A strong consideration in removing this flooring, was that was on the customers is an invalid and the floor was a main path for movement, which took some effort.  Also grab-type devices were attached to the flooring.

The customers opted to leave this flooring in place until it a new floor was chosen and it could all be replaced at the same time, with some time to plan.
